This is where the relaxing starts again; we board a huge house boat and head off in to the backwaters of Kerela. These beautiful waterways extend for hundreds of miles, leading to this place sometimes being called the 'Venice of the East'. To be away from the traffic and hectic day to day goings of Indian life, has a refreshing tranquillity about it.

We travel the waterways during the day, our meals prepared by the on board crew, it all feels very luxurious. The boat parks up at night and the next day we head back to the dock to depart and head off to the beaches at Varkala.
