Smarties travels
Hello again everyone,
sorry to say but i'm still miles behind at the moment with the old web page business because of these rubbish computers in china but i'm getting there.
hong kong. well what can i say about honk kong other than BLOODY HELL, IT'S GREAT HERE!!! the place is all about money, and if you got it you can sure burn through it fast here for example i bought a pint of guiness here on my first night (my first draght pint of guiness since leaving heathrow in january) and it was a lovely pint but it cost 60 hong kong dollars which converts back to about 4 pounds 20. needless to say it was my last of the evening aswell. but if you like shopping it's out of this world here, me not giving a rats ass about gucci and louie voton or whatever the hell his name is, it's all about the atmosphere here which is buzzing! plenty, and i mean plenty of bars here which you can chill out passing the day away with a (very expensive) pint or sitting back and watching the hussle and bussle pass you by.
i must admit, even i spent money shopping in hong kong. i've been and treated myself to a fancy new camera. for all you camera buffs out there it's a 8 mega-pixel digital SLR all singing all dancing canon 350 D, and i love it. now need to mention the price because i nearly wet myself everytime i think of how much it cost me.
i met some really cool people in hong kong, one especially, this english guy who works in a guest house in chengdu called dan. we got on really well and went on the lash for 3 nights solid in kowloon. we found this cool chinese bar which had next to no westeners in there which also showed the champions league final (to spoutoff, little matty and matt swain:- well done boys, it was a good game with a good result, but what's happening next year? do you get to defend the title or are you going to watch everton win it?) and with dan being able to speak chinese we had a great laugh playing these chinese drinking games involving dice and plenty of beer. one night we even started to drink with these hong kong police men, who were tiny and got drunk really fast. one of them spent the night out of his tree screaming something i had no idea about but it must of been funny because dan was pissing himself with laughter, but it could of just been the fact that there was this little police man drunk as a skunk shouting in a bar. on the way out the 3 (very, very drunk) police men offerd us a lift home in there car, we declined, but it was funny to see the car swerving all over the road as they pulled away.
the last night in hong kong i went out to hong kong island with this aussie guy and this dutch girl who were in my dorm room. what a great night it was aswell! loads of bars playing cheesey 80's music (banana rama and milly vanilly) with people dancing on the tables having a good time. i spent a small fortune that night but it was worth it just to see hong kong island at night. if i had money i would have no hesitation in going back there for a week with all you boys from back home and we would have the time of our lives.
well all good things must come to an end, so i'm leaving hong kong and getting the ferry over to macau island for a little bit of history and culture.
cheers everybody and i'll speak to you all soon. smartie pants.
