Hi guys, Pingyao has been a quiet stop off before the hecticness that is to follow in Beijing, i'm getting the train tonight. Pingyao is a very old and beautiful city, but after seeing it in a day there's not much more to do. So as you can see we have filled our time by lazing around in the day and getting drunk out of our minds in the evening. Twice we were the last to leave the bar (including the bar staff), one time we were told to go to bed by the hotel manager at 3 in the morning. It's been nice being around other travelers again (most of the way up through China there haven't been many westeners at all), going out for a drink in the evenings and talking to new people. But there is only so much lazing around and drinking you can do in one place so it's off to Beijing on the over night train (after this trip we would have been in a train or a bus for just over a hundred hours in the 3 and a half weeks we've been in China!!). I'm really looking forward to Beijing, going to see the great wall and other sights but it's also the last place we go to before Mongolia! and i can't wait for Mongolia!! Speak to you all soon.
