Koh Phangan Part 2 Monday 18th February Nothing has gone to plan, turned up and our bungalow had been taken and turned into a room, que the camp bed for Luke. (700 Baht a night cheaper tho). Partied it up with a couple of lads from Windsor but the night took its toll, and by the following morning we were a man down. Matt hit the antibiotics and curbed his drinking for 3 nights. Chris and Luke 2 maned it with the Windsor lads (Four!!!!!!), companied some Irish girls who were trigger happy with the camera and are now missing various items of party headwear. Ran into the Swedish girls from trekking, wow, what a reception, a celebrity status was felt.Another night of partying resulted in another man down in the morning, Chris took the whole day off work and put one hell of a shift in in his bed. After a quiter two man night out everyone was back to full fitness and ready for a big one. Things started to go pete tong. The full moon party had been shifted to 2 days later due to Thai elections. Annoyed with having to stay an extra two nights it was compounded when we discovered no bars were open and no alcohol was being sold. Another quiet night in with more Champions League repeats.Determined to have a good night we went to Thai Boxing, quality. It had the lot, old verses young, big verses small, naughty KO's, and the odd bit of play acting. On our return pumped for another atempt at a big night out and a few Chang's later we arrived to the sound of silence, the bars were open and alcohol was aflow, but no music was to be heard. Another quiet night.Woke up to the sound of thunder and an Irish girl smashing her window next door, of all days the rain came in on Full Moon Party night. Sitting, chilling, waiting for the party to get going and writting this, the rain has stopped (touch wood) but the party will go on!
Full Moon!!!! Met up with some fellow Stotfold crew members to kick the night off. Bought, and pasted on illuminous war paint to get into the spirit of things! Matt looked like rambo. Chris like a cat, and Luke like Lisa Left eye Lopez (RIP). The beach was absolutely packed which meant sticking together as a team was a challenge! The night itself was amazing. Everything we had expected (and waited around for!). There was one ridiculous down pour but it did not last unlike us, until gone six in the morning. Full Moon done.
The next morning, still feeling somewhat fruity, we hoped onto the Venga bus. A minibus kitted out with laminate flooring, leather seats and ceiling, plus more speakers than Dixons. All looked quite flash but the driver didn't look so good when he showed us the boot space and the missing roof rack. Laps it is. Quite possibly the funniest journey ever undertaken was with 4 Essex Ladies. Next time we'll bring a map of the British Isles. Quote on quote: 'isn't Wales in England?'.
Off to Krabi, via bus. Least we got a seat...........
