After leaving the lovely peaceful Ballina were we ready for what awaited us in Sydney????? We boarded the plane mega excited and couldnt wait to see Sydney. I had decided to start a diet since none of my clothes fit me at the mo!!! Obviously the gruit drinks and noodles I was eating in Thailand which I thought were healthy werent at all!!! So the girlies enjoyed a vino while I watched on with envy lol. We arrived in Sydney and were chuffed to manage to get a hotel for 50 pound a night between us BARGAIN!!!! We boarded the shuttle bus and were on our way. Our eyes peering out the window scared to miss a thing!!!! I was also well chuffed to hear Coldplays Viva La Vida on the radio!! How perfect could this moment be??haha.
Once we arrived and got settled into our shoe box of a room we hit Sydney. We hit the shops, for a change, and after wandering around for over 2 hours to find somewhere to have tea we found an Italian and enjoyed some amazing pasta. The first day we hit the streets of Sydney armed with our map and visited various tourist attractions!! We looked like proper tourists!!! After a well deserved stop for brunch we were devastated when the rain came down!! We worked our way to the Opera House and managed to get a few drownt snaps!!! (as you can see!!!). We hit more shops, had a wander round the harbour and China Town and also went for a ride on the Mono rail to see Sydney at night, which was lovely.
The following day we went up Sydney Tower where you got a 360o view of Sydney amd went on the Oz Trek which was meant to be like a real life simulation of things to do and see around Oz!! We felt sick when we came off lol!!! We then headed to the Harbour where we looked forward to the Jet Blaster, which was a 35 minute jet boat ride which did 360o spins!! However on finally finding the right area in the harbour the rain came down then the thunder and lightning!! There was to be no more rides for the day AHHHH!! Starbucks came to our rescue where we sat until it stopped!!! We thought a well deserved drink was required so headed out for dinner and a few glasses of champers later we stotted home, stopping for a yummy Falafal on the way!!!
The n ext day was our last day in Sydney so since the rain had stopped us doing so much we had planned a very busy day but..... ofcourse what happens when Kerry has Champagne??? The same that happens to Dotty eh Mum???hahaha. I was very rough the following day and literally had to drag myself out of bed!!! We missed our trip to Bondi but me and Kel knew we would be back!! Especially since we had also called Channel 7 who broadcast Home and Away and wed missed the filming that week so wed have to return to visit Palm Beach and watch them filming!!! Sad eh?? But seemingly you get to watch then the crew pose for pics with you!!!! hahaha. So not cultural girls are we????
Anyway so the joys of knowing I was headed to the Harbour to go on the Jetblaster which we had missed the day before!!!! My stomach was aching at the thought. After umming and ahhring about whether to do it I found myself strapped in and ready to go!!! and I was so chuffed I did. For all of the 35 minutes it was a total hangover cure and I loved it!! We had a ball. Shame it didnt last afterwards lol. We had a lovely lunch after seeing Russell Brand shimmy past (if it wasnt him it was defo a look a likey!!!) then we headed to the Ferry Port to catch the Ferry to Manly which was about 30 minutes away. Oh the joys another ferry with a hangover and me being such a boat lover hahaha. Thank god for my sea sickness tablets!!! We spent our time in Manly checking out the beach and the shops. We loved the place, although only a short ferry ride form Sydney you left the madness behind, the place was so chilled and nice!!! When we arrived back to Sydney we had a dinner before heading back to the Hotel to get organised for our early start and I had to prepare myself for a teary farewll to my travel companion for the last six weeks!! Sarah was leaving us!!!! :-( and as predicted there was lots of tears saying goodbye!!!! Looking back on our time in Sydney it was fast, busy, cold and a bit of a let down!! I think you build it up in your head to be such an amazing place but London ticks more boxes!!! Heres to our next four nights in Melbourne and NEIGHBOURS yeahhh!!!!
