My first day back in Sydney was a busy one. We headed north to Palm Beach where Home and Away is filmed, was excited as sad as that sounds lol. Was mad seeing it as it looks so different!!! Had my pic taken at the surfclub hahaha. Then from there we drove past another few gorgeous beaches then onto Bondi where I picked up lots of christmas presents, thanks everyone!!! I was so excited opening them!!! Then went to Coogee Beach. So a day of beaching it today!!!! Also met up with loads of people I knew from travels etc which was ace. Looking forward to tomorrow. Heading to one of the many parks where you get views of the bridge!!! We have to be there for like 10am!!! 14 hours before the fireworks!!!!! So taking a picnic and loads of us going so will be a fab day!!! Then walking for miles back to Coogee Beach to open a bottle of Champers whilst watching the sun rise hehehe. What a fab start to 2009!!! Enjoy Kittys girls hahaha. Happy New Year!!!!!
What an amazing New Year. I cant even explain how fantastic it was seeing the fireworks and actually being part of such an amazing event!!! It was even better than I ahd imagined. We queued from 930 and didnt get into the park until about 2pm but we had a laugh in the queue and met loads of people. When we got in we found a spot where we had a fab view then sat and waited hahaha and waited and waited lol. The lead up to midnight was so exciting!!! There was a family firework display for the kids at 9 then the main one. Everyone went mental!!! Overall it was definately a New Year to remember. Today we have had a chilled day. Everyone was asking me to meet them on the beach or at the pool but we just ended up going for a walk over to the bridge and Opera House, had dinner etc, was a lovely day!!!! Decided on my next plan of action, heading to Canberra, Adelaide then onto Melbourne in another Camper yipeee!!!!! Leaving on Saturday hopefully.
Another amazing day. We went to the Blue Mountains - which is a huge National Park. It was out of this world. I am so so grateful that I had the chance to come back to Sydney as I would have been gutted that I had missed out after coming back this time!!!!
We left the city and drove up to Katoomba where a part of the Blue Mountains is - the three sisters, had some food then set off around Katoomba for a wee look. It was a lovely little place. After that we tried to go on the skyrail or train so we could see more of the Blue Mountains but the queues were so big so we thought wed head out on a wee road trip and see what we could find. On the way this lovely guy came out of his shack like house and out to the car. We initially thought weirdo but he was so nice, he gave us so much advise about where to go and what to do. After asking for directions we ended up in his house and couldnt get away!! He had done loads of treks and we had to go through the stories with him and look through the pics!!! Once we eventually left we headed to Wentworth where he said was the nicest area to see. When we arrived we all felt a bit unamused at the thought of doing a four hour trek, hiking up and down hills especially me who had a pair of pumps on!!!! The walks are graded on how easy/hard they are and this one was graded as hard!!!! Anyway after setting off we had an amazing time. We were up and down mega stairs, through different passage ways, passed waterfalls. It was breath taking!!!! About 30 minutes from the end we were faced by the hardest past of the trek!! The hundreds of stairs were sooooo steep!!!! Anyway we managed it and had a massive celebration at the end and treated ourselves to an ice cream!! There was an ice cream van at the end, whats that all about!!! Trying to encourage you to spoil all your hardwork lol. We completed it in 2 hours 15 and were totally amazed, maybe the fact iv put on so much weight has made me fitter haha. Were all going to be in agony tomorrow!!! A chilled night in was well deserved!!! Not sorted the camper yet so may be here another day. Totally loving Sydney, wish you had the chance to do it again Sarah!!! Hope my pics can make up for it a wee bit.
Another fabby day in Sydney. We headed to Coogee to do the Coogee Beach to Bondi Beach walk. While muching breaky at the beach a looud horn went off!! It was a shark sighting ahhhhh I couldnt believe it. The beach went manic, people in the water swan for their lives, what a sight!!!! lol. After our fabby day we got the bus back to the city and enjoyed a Thai tea!!! Loving the fact there is internet access in the hotel room woo hoo!!! Heading to the central coast tomorrow for the night, more antics ahead!!!
We headed off early morning up the coast to Newcastle, where I originally flew into when coming to Sydney!!! Spent the day on the beach and the evening by the pool at our motel, what a laugh. The next day we left and headed to the Blue Mountains, although id already been it was good to go back and see/do the other bits. A long day, by the end of which I was shattered!!! Stayed with Fi whose living out here which was fab as a free nights accommodations always good, she was a wee star. Heading out today with Paulio, my last day in Sydney!!! Booked a train to Melbourne for tomorrow!! Bye bye Sydney!!
