We got the next bus to Airlie Beach where we spent a few days including Brads birthday. On the Friday evening there was a huge firework display for the beginning of the Reef Festival which we watched from the small beach. The next day was spent chilling at the lagoon before dinner and drinks at the Mexican restaurant. Then we met some friends for a few drinking games in honour of Brads birthday! On Sunday we started our 3day 2night sailing trip on the beautiful WhitSunday Islands. Our 2 guides were informative and Dave was a great chef! The other was a miserable git and could have cheered up a bit! We had an amazing time, lots of swimming, snorkelling and of course a stop at the must see Whitehaven beach. The ship was very nice and even had famous passengers Marilyn Monroe and King George V back in the day! In fact we slept in the same bed as Marilyn! I felt a little sick early on but after a few hours I soon forgot about it. On the first day we got to open sails ourselves. The second day we went to Whitehaven, first with a climb to the lookout then a swim and relax on the beach. The sand is apparently the finest in the world and felt like walking on flour!
