So we arrived in Perth early this afternoon and it was bloody freezing!! We had to get our jeans and jumpers out! We stayed at Billabong hostel in Northbridge for the first week and took in the sights and shops nearby. Our second day we went out with our new roomies Debs & Emma for our first taste of Aussie beer, wine and cuisine - very nice! We went North of the city to visit Rob & the boys, stopping at the beach for a coffee and then had our first (of many) bbqs. The rest of the first week was spent taking in some culture at WAs Museum, art gallery and a night out at Black Bettys Nightclub.

We spent the next 3 weeks staying with Rob and the boys and we had an amazing time with them. We watched Kris play Aussie Rules and took a trip down to Fremantle for the day. We had a walk around the town and had fish & chips at the harbour. When rob took a short trip over to Sydney, Brad and I spent most days at the nearby beach. We made another trip down to Fremantle to do the prison tour which was by torchlight and very scary! there were lots of things jumping out at us as we made our way around the eerie old building. I spent a day shopping with Cheryl and Michael, Brad watched the Aussie Rules final. I cant get in to it really, its nowhere near as good as our footie!

The highlight of our time with Rob was our day down to Bussleton and Margeret River. We left nice and early arriving in Bussleton at around 8am and walked the jetty, all 1800 metres of it! After breakfast we made a stop at the beach then made our way further south to the Margeret River region where all thwe wineries are. we spent the afternoon touring as many as possible, tasting all different wines, ports and beers. We even went to a chocolate factory and tasted lavender and chilli beer!

Of course we made time for a stroll around Kings Park, once at night with all the trees lit up and once during the day with a picnic. We walked to the city lookout point and along the treetop boardwalk and even climbed a few trees before heading home to pack for our early flight in the morning.

Just wanted to say thank you to Rob, Michael and Kris for making us so welcome and extra thanks to Rob for giving us the best grub since we left home 5 months ago! We really appreciate all you did for us and are looking forward to seeing you this christmas!
