Started our stay in Singapore with a day sopping on the famous Orchard Road. We must have gone in about 12 malls and by the time we got the train back to the hostel we were exhausted! We spent a couple of days in Melaka just chilling out and visiting some of the historical sights. We stayed nearby to the town square and everythings within walking distance from there. We started the day with a walk around Merdeka square and the Lake gardens stopping in the butterfly house. It was in Merdeka Square that Malaysias independence was proclaimed in 1957. The Lake Gradens are where the British built their homes, away from the hustle of city. Today we started with a walking tour of the main sights of Georgetown, Penang. We also walked along the sea front and around Cornwallis Fort. It was here that Brit Captain Light first arrived on the Island and it became a base for The East India Trading Company. We took an overnight bus down from Bangkok to Ao Nang in Krabi where we spent 3nights at a lush hotel, Princeville. It was just across from the beach but we spent all day everyday in the hotels swimming pool and jacuzzi! It was really nice to have a little bit of luxury after 2 weeks in Myanmar and its only our 2nd beach in four months of travels!
