My Family Travels
This was a road trip with my co-worker Hannah. One of her good friends was getting married in Montana and I was invited along! Awesome!
Wisconsin - We left early in the morning and got Starbucks. Yum! We did not turn the radio on until mid-Minnesota. Yes, we talked all those hours. That's all for WI.
Minnesota - Other than waving to the exit we would take on our trips to New Ulm for college, we sped right through Minnesota!
South Dakota - We made up a game to go through South Dakota. We counted how many signs we saw for Wall Drug. By the time we got through, it was over 100 signs! When we crossed over the border of SD, we decided to take a 20 minutes detour to the Corn Palace. Such a fun crazy touristy stop. Totally spur of the moment, totally worth it! We literally stopped there to take 5 pictures, buy some postcards, and leave. Then we continued on across the state. South Dakota is so flat. Thankfully there was so many advertisements along the way. We were pretty entertained by them. All of a sudden Hannah goes "Look at that!" All of a sudden there was the Badlands! What an amazing sight. So we took our second unplanned stop. We stopped here for a few hours. What another great stop. I didn't think that the Badlands would be as beautiful as they were! We were so happy that we stopped here. Finally we finished up our first day by doing another 20 minute stop at Wall Drug. We had to take a few pictures and buy some postcards.
The next day we toured around Mount Rushmore. It was super great to finally see this American Icon in person. We looked at all the state flags. We toured around the trails. There really wasn't too much here, but it was nice to say I have been there now. We tried to visit the Jewel Caves in SD, but all the tours were booked for the day. We were pretty bummed to not be able to visit this. So we didn't do a stamp since we couldn't actually see the NP
