My Family Travels
So we're done in Vegas, but here's the update of what went on last night. We went down to the strip in the afternoon to check out some other things that we wanted to see. Welke wanted to get this big purple drink that we had seen the night before. We didn't know where the people got the drink, so basically we were on a wild goose chase. We searched in the Pairs hotel where we first saw the drink. It was a no go. Then we went next door to Bally's and Planet Hollywood. Still not finding it. By then we went to Bellagio to see the fountains again and take pictures at the flower gardens inside. While we were there we had our only celebrity sighting we think. We saw who we thought was Penn from Penn&Teller. Check out the picture and make your thought. Then we continued the search by going to Margaritaville. By then we were all a little cranky and tired so we sat down and had some drinks. My mango margarita was really good. Nass had an Italian margarita and Welke had a drink called Incomunicado. Yea, her's was strong. We asked the bartender there were to get the drink and he actually knew! So we headed to Harrah's where we found the infamous 100 oz drink. Guess how much....$35! Yup, that much. So then we wanted to get back to our hotel. But the bus stops were few and far between. By the time we got to a stop, someone told us we couldn't take open drinks on the bus. Arg. So then we walked the rest of the way to the hotel. This morning we measured how far we walked.....drum roll please..... 3 miles! So needless to say my feet hurt today. When we got back to the hotel we were all too tired so we watched a little tv and went to bed. We woke up this morning to check out and go to Hoover Dam. After we checked out we spent 5 minutes doing the slots. I really don't understand how people can sit there and watch their money disappear like that. Oh well. Then we headed to Hoover Dam. Hoover Dam was pretty cool except it was immensly hot. We walked around for a bit and then went to the car. It was just too hot out! I don't think I could ever live in a place with this much heat! We then drove to Williams, AZ which is an hour from Grand Canyon, where we will go tomorrow. For supper we went to a cute little diner in town. While we were there a Civil War reenactment band came in and played for the restaurant. It was the youngest group in the US (they were all kids!) It was pretty fun. Right now I am sitting at the hotel pool looking out over the mountains. This is the life!
