Today I was sad to be leaving the city of excess! I really enjoyed its crazy 'we can do anything' attitude. The day went super quick as we didn't leave Vegas until late and the van journey went quick. We arrived at our campground in the Grand Canyon around 4pm and went about setting up our tents.
Once our tents were up we got in the van and were told to put on blind folds. Getting out of the van was tricky, and walking from the car park to the edge of the canyon was fantastically funny! We were all blindfolded in a line, some walking quicker, and some walking slower and no one wanted to loose the person in front otherwise you wouldn't find them again! We made it to the view point, just about in one piece, and were all told to turn around so that we were facing the canyon. Matt our guide counted down from three and we all took our blind folds off.
The view was brilliant, we were there at the perfect time of day so the light was casting gorgeous shadows! We stayed at the same location looking for a decent place to sit and watch the sun set. I found a perfect step to sit on, it hung over the canyon edge and I could see the sun slowly falling below the horizon, I stopped taking pictures and just enjoyed it! Just as the sun completely disappeared pizza arrived and we all took a slice looking at the amazing view in front of us! We then returned to the camp site to finish our pizza around the fire!
