Yesterday we visited Chris & Lori, Pete's grandson and his wife, in Gainesville, Florida. Started out eating breakfast with them at I Hop and left them in the evening after eating dinner at a BBQ place named appropriately the Smokehouse. In between visited their home which they share with 1 dog, 2 cats, a hedgehog, and 2 geckos. Did I mention Lori is a vet and Chris is just finishing up his studies at University of Florida to also enter the veterinary field. We went to the Museum of Natural History, walked through the most amazing butterfly expo and then took in a movie complete with soda & popcorn. The kids live in a great townhouse complex that has a large pond complete with turtles and a crocodile. We took Mickey, the dog, for a walk among the trees to the lake and he wanted the turtles to play with him! He is a sweetie, doxie and chihuahua. Needless to say we had a wonderful day...rain and thunder showers now but we are tucked in like two bugs in a rug.
