After nine hours on the road yesterday, we hit our Pontchartrain Landing R.V. park in New Orleans. We are right on the canal that attaches to Lake Pontchartrain and it is beautiful. The water is right outside our door and we are across from the showers, A BIG PLUS IN MY BOOK! We went on a walking tour of the Garden District today. The picture above is one of the many gorgeous homes we viewed. We were allowed an inside peek at one of them and OMG how people live. We stopped at Sandra Bullock's home but no one answered Pete's knock... oh well. Pete had some red beans and rice, shrimp creole and jambalaya for lunch and I had a roast beef Po Boy ...mine was yummy, his was fish. We ate at a place called The Gumbo Shop close to Bourbon St.. We then proceeded to walk there and look around for all of five minutes...decided it wasn't "us" and walked back to find a taxi home. Took a two hour nap, washed clothes, and Pete is barbequeing steak tonight. It's on to the Swamp tour in the morning, steamboating in the afernoon. Will be checking in soon...love to all
