Week 19- Australia (Byron Bay) Day 5
We were up early ready for our first yoga session. It turned out to only be me, Gemma and one other lad in the class. The instructor was really nice and we both loved the class. The class lasted an hour and a half and we both felt very relaxed and chilled by the end of it.
We then had a rush to meet Izzy before she went to work as she wanted to show us the lighthouse. We got the shuttle into town and then Izzy and her fiancé picked us up and drove us to the top by the lighthouse. Izzy is really sweet and was telling us lots about Byron Bay. As we were walking up we saw a massive school of dolphins right by the shore. There was about 20/30 dolphins jumping in and out the water. They were beautiful!! We then walked further along and in the distance we could see quite a few whales, we were using my zoom on my camera as binoculars! As you can imagine we were both very excited!
The lighthouse is the most Southern part of Australia and there are amazing views, we could have spent hours up there just relaxing taking in the scenery. Izzy took a few photos of us by the lighthouse causing chaos on the paths! We then started the walk down the hill and along the beach back into town. It took just over an hour and it was really nice to walk along the beach, there was lots of people surfing! When we got into town just as we came off the beach there was a patch of grass and a man singing and playing the guitar. He was an incredible performer so we chilled on the grass listening to him soaking up the sunshine. He sung John Newman and Snow Patrol which made us really happy.
We then decided it was getting late and we still hadn't had lunch so we strolled along the beach for another half an hour back to our hostel. We cooked some fresh pasta and then spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in hammocks! This is the life
