Week 18- Australia (Newcastle) Day 3
Wahhhhhhh a 5am start to catch the bus to head to Newcastle. Thankfully when we arrived very tired and weary a lady from the hostel was waiting for us to pick us up! She told us about the area on the way back. Char has had the flu over the last few days and now I think I have got it as I felt super rough today. So when we got to the hostel we collapsed in heaps in our bed and shut our eyes for a bit. We then had to do some shopping and for lunch I really fancied chips like Churchill chips, our local fish and chip shop at home (they do the best chips) they are hard to beat so I had to settle for less. But it still settled the craving. We then had to do some laundry before heading out to explore Newcastle.....we got the free bus towards the harbour. We then walked along the coastal path we walked past Newcastle Salt Baths up the cliffs towards the Famous Bogey Hole. We actually ended up walking past tej Bogey Hole further up the cliff to the top! There were some pretty cool views along the way. On the way back down we found the Bogey Hole. The Bogey Hole is a swimming pool which was built for a military commandment from 1819 to 1822 for his own personal use. This swimming pool was made by hand by several workers as they chipped away the rock. It's the first handmade swimming pool in Australia. Unfortunately it isn't used today and was closed off. We then headed back towards the hostel as the sun was setting. It was quite a cool sunset as it made the whole sky turn a really darkish pink colour. We both have ever seen anything like it before. We got back in time for 'Sausage Sizzler' which the hostel was hosting. A sausage BBQ with onions and bread. The sausages were quite nice and there were loads of them. Then we chilled on the sofa for a bit before heading to bed.
