Week 19- Australia (Byron Bay) Day 4
Cannot believe we left Yamba today, we both didn't want to leave :( we can see how people get stuck there. But we got on the bus to Byron Bay! When we arrived the mini bus was waiting to pick us up to take us to Byron Bay beach resort. We had a few minutes spare so we quickly popped to the shops to grab a few bits. Once we arrived at the hostel we had a little while to wait before we checked in. Once we finally checked in we dumped our stuff and headed back into town on the bus. We wanted to try 'Bayger' a burger place that had been recommended by a few people. I had the tree hugger (veggie burger) and Charlotte had crispy chicken. Both were yummy! We then had a little mooch around town and beach. We then went to meet Izzy who is the lady that has planned the next few weeks of our trip when mum and brad arrives. Was so nice to finally our a name to a face. We arranged to meet tonight to go for drinks.
After that we headed back to sort our stuff out. We got chatting to 2 Londoner girls in our room, was nice to hear the London accent! We then got showered and made dinner before heading back to town to meet Izzy. First of all we went to the Railway pub we had a drink there and chatted away! There was a girl singing in there too with a band, she was pretty good. After that we moved on to our next pub called the Northern Lantern, again There was another band setting up and starting to play. We had a drink in there before going to another bar. Unfortunately Charlotte didn't have her ID on her so we couldn't go in. We decided to call it a night, whilst we waited for Adam (Izzys finance) to pick us up we went into a 24hour bakery! Me and Charlotte shared a Australian cake called 'Lamington'. It's basically soft sponge coated in chocolate and coconut shavings, was yummy! Then they dropped us back. Our room was so quiet when we got back the lights were off and everything! Wasn't even that late. We aren't used to such quiet hostels!
