We went rafting on the Tully River yesterday and we both really enjoyed it. We went on rapids up to grade 4 so they were pretty big. We spent about 5 hours on the water and got to swim down a couple of the rapids as well. Lou has got bruises down her legs today from where she hit some rocks on the way down. You are supposed to keep your legs up and go feet first so you can see where you are going and so you don't hit any rocks. We also got to jump off one of the high rocks into the river.
There were 7 rafts in all and 2 of them flipped over in one of the rapids. We had to pick one of the girls up who fell out and she was crying so its probably a good job ours didn't tip over. They got us all to sit at one end of the raft for one of the rapids and when we went down the drop we all fell in. We ended up going under quite deep and it took about 5-6 seconds before we came back to the surface. Its quite scary when you can't see the surface and you are just getting thrown about under water.
Before we arrived here we went to see the highest single drop waterfall in Australia. It was 270 metres straight down so it was very high and there was actually water flowing over this one.
We said bye to our mates that we met on Fraser today, they are heading back down south now so we will miss them. We are heading up to Cairns today, its only about 1-1/2 hours north so its a short car journey today.
