We had a bad day yesterday. We tried to find the Beijing Underground City which lookded like it was about 20 minutes walk away from hour hostel. Two and a half hours later in the baking heat we had been given directions from about 8 people including a policeman and we still hadn't found it. We ended up getting on the back of a passing tuk-tuk who promised he would get us there. He took us down a quiet alley about 2 minutes away, showed us that the Underground City was closed down and then demanded 300 Yuan (about 30 quid) off us. Needless to say I didn't give him anwhere near as much but I did tell him what I thought of him!

We ended up going to the park instead.
