We arrived ok in Beijing yesterday and went straight to the bar in the hostel for a couple of drinks with some other travellers from Scotland and Ireland who were playing the guitar and singing.

Today we went to the Forbidden City (the old emperors palace) which was miles away and it was a very smoggy and humid day. The temples were very impressive although after the 7th or 8th they all began to look the same.
