After crossing the border we stopped for the night in Chau Doc where during the evening we took motorbikes up to the top of sam mountain where we got drinks and laid in hammocks to watch the sunset. Having returned to the hotel we had dinner and went to bed. The next morning we got up early to take the bus to Ho Chi Minh City where we arrived at about 4pm. We showered and then met three new members and said goodbye to 4 previous members of our group over dinner and drinks that evening. The next day we got the coach to the Cu Chi Tunnels which were used by local people to hide in when war broke out including the american/vietnam war. We had a guide who showed us a video, walked us around the area above the tunnels and took us to see the boobie traps that were used 'at that time'. We were also showed how rice paper is made, and went down into the actual tunnels and ate tapioca and rice tea which they would have eaten 'at that time'. The guys in our group also chose to shoot an AK47 which was scarily loud!!! Having returned to the hotel, we then met the rest of the group at 2.30pm for a walking tour to the french colonial post office, notre dame, ben than market and then had dinner before getting the coach to the train station.
