Beginning our journey of New York, we first went to one of the priority "sights to see" which was the made famous by TV, Carlo's Bakery! As Emma and Sarah in all of their Netflix binge watching had started the the TV series "Cake Boss". From the beginning of planning this was at the top of the list. We showed up at 7:00 a.m. thinking there might be something to the hype and it would be less crowded; well it definitely wasn't crowded as there were only a few people which did make it easier to figure out which one of the pastries we wanted. They are not only known for cakes but their lobster tails (a single layer of puff pastry shaped conically and then filled with a whipped, creamy custard) and their cannolis. We also got some cream puffs and a small cheesecake. Unfortunately for all of us there was nothing that we found terribly tantalizing. It was all ok but we figured out that Italian pastry is just not our bag! Well worth the fun experience nonetheless! - Carrie
