Great day touring a few of the attractions in and around Kununurra with Daryl and Delphine today. After a bit of a mix up with accommodation in Kununurra, Carol and I set up camp in the Kumberleyland Park this morning. Setting up next to Daryl and Delpheen was great as we had been looking forward to catching up with them and exchanging experiences and must see sights for the rest of our trips.
We spent the morning hiking through the Hidden Valley National Park with the Fultons. The park has some striking similarities to The Bungle Bungle NP and we thoroughly enjoyed the trails.
The afternoon saw us back in their brilliant new 200 Series Toyota. First stop was Ivanhoe Crossing that looked particularly "fishy" then onto Hoochery, a rum distillery just out of town. The girls went for sweets of Rum Cake and Cream for mains while Daryl and I had Battered Barra for our lunch. All meals went down extremely well and when you throw in the "rum tasting" we all thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Next stop was a sandle wood farm that seemed ridiculously overpriced and then back into town for some grocery shopping.
After changing sites so that we could hook up and be ready for an early departure in the morning we had a most enjoyable night sharing food, drinks and stories with Jimmy, Shirley, Daryl and Delpheen.
A seriously good day.
