Another good day in the Alps.

After a two hour climb up to the Col du Festre, the next six hours were all downhill (from the col to our final destination, we lost 1,000 metres in height). Surprising how much height we’d actually gained over the last four days. Some of the roads were through gorges where the sun seldom shone.
A couple of technical problems (Jackie’s rear tyre and my chain) were resolved, but cost us around an hour.
Unfortunately, the last two hours of the descent were into a fierce headwind so we still had to press on the pedals just to avoid being blown back up hill.
Arrived in Sisteron at around 5pm. Full sun and 30 degrees.
Not a great hotel.
