We had the best time today, meandering the shops and sights of the Latin Quarter all the way to Notre Dame and the Isle de la Citie.
Will write more when I have more time.
Emily leaves tomorrow.
And I am off to the Palace de Versailles.
Trying to catch up on Blogging.
It's 9.52pm Friday 12th September.
Emily and I had the best day.
A bit of a sleep in and off walking about 9.30am.
We headed down the street of Goblins from the Place D'Italie.
Emily guided us via Google Maps.
Did an amazing job.
To the Latin Quarter.
We had a ball.
Little shops.
Bought lovely bracelets.
Tried on an amazing pair of red shoes.
Did I want them?
Yes.
Would I wear them?
No.
Still... walked around the shop for a while.
Wandered in and out of toy shops.
Found an amazing street that was full of Superhero and Comic Book shops.
Sat and ate and watched the passing parade.
A lovely lady said... 'What's today? Thursday... There's the market round the corner'
You didn't need to tell us twice.
Off we went.
Emily bought a great handbag for Mim.
And I bought a purse.
Our purpose for the day was to find the Antique Shop that had that wonderful carved wooden man that we had seen on the first day on our walk to Notre Dame.
Checking out the photos on my phone, we worked out that the shop was on the Isle de la Citie, on the corner of the Pont Neuf Bridge.
Not a prestigious address, at all!
We paused by Notre Dame and just soaked up the view.
And we found the Antique Shop.
My little wooden man had been sold the day before.
Oh...
For 3500 Euros.
OH.
That's $5,011.89 Australian Dollars.
I REALLY liked him.
( But, secretly, I think I was glad that I missed out by one day.)
The man in the Antique Shop was lovely and gave us the Website that I could order one from.
They date from the 1800s .... And I should look for one that has a lovely face like the one in the window had.
We thanked him and put that on our list for our Tattslotto win.
So we walked the sidewalks and checked out the wonderful green box stalls along the banks of the Seine.
Mainly books ... and souvenirs.
I bought a book ... in French....
But it has a lovely lion on the front...
And the title is... 'Le Lion'.
Walked home.
Back across the road for a wonderful dinner at Cafe O Jules.
We have fun there.
The waiters and waitresses greet us like family.
And also grin as we place our orders.
( Haven't changed since the first dinner!)
Back to our room.
Both a bit restless... Talking and remembering.
Great, great day!
