...we get up early to catch a 10am gospel choir church service in Harlem - the singing is impressive especially among the faithful and everyone is asked to contribute some money, which is also impressive. Smart!
...we visit the Central Park with my dad and L and find a statue of a Polish king, Wladyslaw Jagiello in it. Described as "king who drove back an aggressor" the king puts a smile on our faces.
...we meet a lot of chipmunks jn the park and they are not shy at all!
...we visit the Roosevelt island and take advantage of some rays of sun - something we didn't have a lot of on this trip
...we have a local Brooklyn Italian pizza - Motorino - it is very good!
...I learn a new term for a sub (foot-long) sandwich - a hero! A small round one is a roll.
...I am shocked by differences in prices of cheap trinkets and memorabilia between different parts of the city. A SoHo Chinese shop sells iPhone cases at $10 and the exact same Chinese casss are sold in Times Square for $40!!
