...I am surprise by how clean, neat and organized the city appears compared to NYC. It is after all much smaller and the nation's capital
...we park the car and line up to visit the White House - the premier attraction we came here for
...we go through innumerable security checks and passport control posts
...we are let into the building, rushed through a number of museum like rooms with old carpets and furniture and enjoy seeing some historic photos and portraits of better known presidents such as JFK or Clinton.
...we spend the rest of the day walking around and enjoying the beautiful and sunny day among government buildings with my dad and L
...we end the day by getting stuck in traffic on the way out of the city and deciding we'd rather have a nice steak dinner at the Trump Hotel restaurant. The steak and free appetizers are exquisite and the bill isn't even that high. The waiter, James, is a true showman and he really earns his $20 top.
...we drive back in awful traffic and make it back to Brooklyn way past midnight. We are dead tired.
