Today we drove south to Roswell, New Mexico as Cadet Ashley wanted to check out the stories behind a rather historic off-worlder landing for himself. Can't see what all the fuss was about myself as I could tell him about thousands of regular visits by my colleagues since this incident back in 1947.

However, it seemed the local authorities at the time were worried about the reaction of the population to the arrival of extra-terrestrials and tried to disguise the landing as a simple weather balloon experiment which had gone wrong. Of course, as with any cover up, the story quickly devolved into conspiratorial myth and so the many tales of 'flying saucers' soon became synonymous with this little town.
