Today was a driving day in order to get within a couple of hours of Washington tomorrow. We covered about 400 miles from Knoxville to Charlottesville. Unfortunately the camp site at which we had planned to stay no longer existed and turned out to be no more than an old sign nailed to a tree!

The second place we used our navigation device to find turned out to be for children with special needs and Cadet Ashley wasn't amused at the suggestion we stayed there! Can't imagine why as it seemed like a lovely place.

In the end we pushed on and plumped for a hotel in Culpeper. As it tuned out this was a good call as the hotel pool was the largest we'd encountered so far and so Cadet Ashley got in some swim training before bed.

Hopefully off to the Washington Smithsonian tomorrow so I guess it's time to recharge the old suit once again.
