We stopped here for lunch while we waited for a bridge to open. The train station was right next to the canal never have we seen so many bicycles in one place. We are entering the inland waterways here. The lock is fully automatic, we just waited for the green light, motored in when the gates opened, another green light and out we went. We then moved on to the first lift bridge, we thought we would have to wait an hour as we had read about a convoy at 12.45. This never happened another yacht turned up and the bridge opened, we then went through all the bridges as far as Middelburg.

After two nights here we are crossing over the Westerschelde estuary where the tide runs up to 6 kns, we will enter the inland waterways at Vlissingen, then take the Karnal door walcheren through the Flushing countryside to the first inland sea Oosterschelde.
