We went for breakfast at a little bakery all together then headed back to the hostel to arrange a day trip around Koh Phi Phi. It was a gorgeous day! We were meeting our guide Stuart at 2 pm, who just happened to be drop dead gorgeous. A proper surfer dude, a bit on the short side but you had to just appreciate his beauty. We got on a long boat with a group of about 12. We set sail and the first stop was 'Monkey beach'. Basically just a small little beach where a gazillion little monkeys roam the place. They advised us to leave everything on the boat as the monkeys will take from you what they can. One woman took her entire bag with her as it had all her valuables in it and lowing behold, three monkeys jumped her and took her bag. She started shouting for one of the guides to help her but it was too late, the monkey and bag were way up into the trees. The monkey even took her charger out, chewed it up and chucked it down in two pieces! It was crazy! We all got back into the boat and headed towards the snorkelling spot over some coral. On the way we briefly stopped at 'Viking Cave'. This is where Thai people illegally take the nest of a bird called Swiflet, as the Chinese believe it boasts fertility, therefore it is worth a lot of money however the birds are becoming endangered so it's illegal worldwide. So even though it's illegal, they even have tour trips out to see it...In Thailand, is anything really illegal if you pay the right money? We didn't stop for long, then headed on a bit further to where the coral was situated. There were lots of colourful fish just like the ones we saw in Oz. The sea was really choppy and so salty I couldn't stay in for long! After, we sailed round to a bay with the smallest entrance. It wasn't a lagoon as it wasn't completely encased but it really looked like one. The water was a gorgeous shade of cloudy blue and the cliffs surrounding it were beautiful! The next stop was Maya Beach, the one we'd all been waiting for! This is the beach where the film 'The Beach' was filmed. There were loads of people there, so much so it was hard to really get the beauty of it. The beach was ok but Stuart took us off through the trees to a viewpoint that he really liked. It started to hammer it down with rain so we took some quick pictures and ran back through the trees to the sea. There's something amazing about being in a warm sea while it's raining, there's no feeling quite like it. It was time to get back on the boat and head to the next destination... Our 8 meter cliff jump! It took us 15 mins to sail there through really chopping sea, which is good fun in a long boat, you get literally soaking! It was well worth it though. Only half the boat wanted to cliff jump so we jumped into the sea and started swimming over towards Stuart who was already swimming towards the rocks. Looking back, it was so dangerous, the waves were crashing against the rocks and one by one we had to grab a rope attached to the rocks and pull ourselves in feet first whilst the waves were crashing into us. Then, we had to rock climb up to 8 meters where we were going to jump into the sea. I was the first among the three of us and was absolutely bricking it as I hate heights! Stuart held my hand right up to the edge and then counted down from three. 1....2....3.....JUMP! It felt like I was falling for ages and then...boom, I hit the water feet first and slightly onto my bum which actually hurt a bit! When I came up for air, I had the most amazing feeling come over me, I'd done it and it was freaking awesome! I wanted to go again. So I did! The second time I tried to keep my body as straight as possible and it felt better that time. We clambered back into the boat then watched the sunset. There were clouds in the way so we continued onto our final stop. This was a little cove where we waited for it to get dark, jumped in and waited for the glowing plankton. We had to move our arms and legs to see them but sure enough they glowed. They looked like little magical sparks coming from our hands. They didn't light up the sea or anything and were actually quite hard to see but apparently there are places in the world where they are really bright. After, we headed back to the Marina and off the boat. We went back to the hostel to shower and then out for dinner in an Italian. Once we'd all finished, we headed back to the room to get ready for our first proper night out. We picked up a bucket on the way. We all had a strawberry daiquiri bucket which was half full of vodka for £5... Insane! I loved the bucket concept! Once ready, we headed to the first bar, 'Blancos'. We had a game of flip cup and lost miserably. The next game was Jenga, each piece had a dare written on it which kept the game interesting. By the end of it, there were naked boys everywhere! We moved on to Ibiza bar, 4play and finished up in Slinky's before calling it a night. Another incredible night out!
