It was weird to spend a night on my own without the girls but I met with them for breakfast so I wasn't without them for long. I had a ciabatta ham and cheese toastie which was a bit nicer than the last 100 toasties I've had. We decided to head to the Tiger Cave Temple which was 1,237 Steps to the top. I thought we would boss it as the 300 Steps to the top of Batu caves in Kuala Lumpur took no time at all, so just times that by four... Well I was massively mistaken! The climb up was really steep, with the majority of steps being like deep lunges. We had to stop quite a few times to catch our breath. It was so humid too so we were just sweating buckets! Finally we reached the top and it felt amazing! We were so high up and the views were incredible! We could see for miles and miles! We could also see that a massive dark grey rain cloud was heading our way and quickly. We had wanted to stay up the top for a lot longer but after a few pictures, we decided it would be wise to make our way back down as it was so steep, we didn't really want to attempt it in the hailing rain! It started to rain as we were about 400 steps from the bottom so it got very slippy. Masa managed to slip which could have been nasty but no harm was done! I was grateful to finally reach the bottom! The taxi driver came and picked us up to take us back to the hostel. We chilled out at our own hostels for a bit before getting ready to leave for our flight to Chiang Mai. The flight was enjoyable and we arrived in Chiang Mai late in the evening and checked into our hostel 'Tree retro'. It was a bit out of the main city which was actually quite nice for a change. I had my own room for the first time too, a deluxe double with my own bathroom. The girls were leaving for their week at an elephant conservation the following morning so I stayed with them for a bit then went back into my room for a good nights sleep!
