Yesterday (Saturday) we thought we would wander round the local craft market. Well that took 10 minutes! Not terribly exciting. More time spent lounging around punctuated by food and drink!
Went to Bon Vivant in the village for dinner. Sat in the garden and only had 2 spots of rain! The service was quite poor - at least 45 minutes to get a starter and then at least another half hour for the main course. The saving grace was that the food was good- except that Nun had a taste off day and couldn’t taste her wildebeest! We have been to that restaurant 3 times now and had bad service on 2 occasions. I don’t think we will be going for a fourth attempt!
Today - Sunday - we decided to go and see Richard (Branson) at his hotel across the valley. He wasn’t there to greet us but they do make a good cup of coffee at reasonable prices £3 for two! A lovely spot but so it should be for £400 per night!
Funny old weather this time- very windy from time to time although mostly sunny and hot. Mustn’t complain!
Tomorrow is our last day in Franschhoek. As it’s Valentine’s Day we have booked a lunch spot- can’t stand the awful couples fixed menu thing in the evenings so could be another pizza evening. I’ll let you know
So ‘til the next time in Cape Town .....
