Cuba - More than old cars
Instead of walking to the Central Station as we have done on other days we decided to go a different way by tram. It required one change but we negotiated it without too much trouble. Unlike Brussels there is not much signage which has English so it has taken a while to get familiar with some of the local words.
We have decided to split up for part of the day with the boys doing the Heinekin Experience and the girls doing the local Albert Cuyp market. As it turned out both venues we near the same stop.
The Heinekin Experience was excellent. Quite different to the one we had each done at the Guiness Brewery in Dublin very illuminating. Such as Heinekin being the first to use recycled glass, they brewing only one type of beer, thaving a special "A yeast", the secret of which is under lock and key, being a philanthropic organisation etc. Near the end of the self quided tours, which are in English, there is a lot of interactive exhibitions for the younger set. All in all it took about 2 hours and included a tasting on how to drink beer and why there is a froth and a couple of glasses of beer at the end.
The girls had managed to go down one side of the market and all but finished the other side. They said it was one of the best markets they had ever been to and would have bought up large if this had been the last stop on our holidays.
There were some issues getting back together due to some issues with phones (texting in particular) which have now been resolved. We then headed back the way we had come but somehow missed our stop which was the last stop on the line - go figure. So we had to get off and then back on another one to eventually make it. We decided to eat at the De Gouden Reael Restaurant recommended by our hosts (of the apartment). It was superb albeit not cheap. This will be our farewell meal.

Gael Cute!
Gael OMG - not so cute!
Allison So funny!
Bruce and Anne The market was the Albert Cuyp Market in Amsterdam behind the Heineken Experience. They sell everything from fish to washing machines. If you can think of it they've got. It took close to 3 hours to get around.
