Douglas Brown's Travels
Day 37 Our last day riding. We had 305km to travel today. We set off from our palacious nights stay at 9am and headed East to the Italian border at Col Angel Pass, 2744 meters ( third highest pass in the alps). The traffic on this pass was much lighter than previous passes and the open scenery made this last pass of the tour very enjoyable. At the summit of the pass I stood with one foot in France and the other in Italy. It was considerably cooker at this altitude which bought welcome relief from the heat of the low lands. From here we continued East to Saluzzo then north to Torino before taking the motorway to Milan. Finding a lunch spot proved difficult as the usually used restaurants were all closed with no explanation. So it was a roadside fuel station on the motorway for lunch Jasa, our van driver met us at the end if the ride with a glass if champaign and a group photo. The final dinner was at the small resturant waking distance from the hotel.
