Bronwyn and I are working quite hard at the moment, I have received a contract working for the ‘Cirque du Soleil’ as a Recruitment and Staffing co-ordinator which will finish on my brother’s birthday (26/9). The show officially starts tonight so there is no more office work, I will now be working out of trailer at the site - hopefully I can catch some summer rays and work on the tan. I will then be flying to Europe on the 27/9 to be in the Polish mountains by my birthday (29/9). That means three days straight of travelling and if all goes to plan I should be meeting Bronwyn at around 6.30pm on my 30th birthday in Krakow, Poland. After trekking around Poland and the Czech Republic for week we will be getting ourselves to France to catch up with Matty, Jan, Margs and Lida in France on 9/10/04 yep it’s going to be a tight schedule!! Bronwyn is going to fly slightly earlier to Eupope than I and see St.Petersberg, and parts of Estonia. We are now settling into Toronto life: *drinking a ‘Tall double double’ - in Australian speak that is a Large drip coffee with a double serving of sugar and milk), *eating ‘Tim bits’ (little pieces of donuts from Tim Hortons - a Canadian coffee house institution), * walking ‘The Path’ (an underground walking path), * reading the ‘Toronto Star’ (broad-sheet paper), and * eating out on the ‘Patio’ (street café) Yet one thing we are not doing is adding ‘eh’ to the end of our sentences, thankfully!. We have now had the opportunity to visit two different 'cottages' (holiday houses situated lakeside-a Toronto institution). Our first time was for the July 1 weekend with some 18 Canadians we be-friended at a pub! It was great, eating; reading trashy magazines; drinking by a campfire; sleeping in; canoeing; and enjoying the pleasantries of the Canadian wilderness! Photos will be on the website shortly!! The second time was for the August 1 weekend. Lost count how many people were at this cottage. This was a little more of a drink fest and we spent alot of the first night dancing in a nearby field where all the cottages got together to put on their annual get together ' dance party'. Lots of fun. Next day was very lazy, lying about in the sun, the occasional dip in the lake to cool off and back to lying in the sun!! Just over one month left here and we still haven't got to Quebec City. Hopefully we can organise this soon but I'm not getting my hopes up. As much as we are loving Toronto we are both also getting exciting about donning the backpacks again and touring around in foreign places.
