Very early start this morning, we were at the boat for 7.00am. Sarah had got our kit out but we had to pack it into our bags and then wait for the long tail to take us to the boat. Once on the boat we set up our kit as usual and were on our way to the dive site called Twins. Basically our dives today were just fun dives so we would only be doing minimal skills. This was great, we were really looking forward to these two dives. In the first we saw; scorpion fish, barracuda and a blue spotted stingray. After the dive we got back on the boat and got our kit ready for the next dive. The boat moved dive sites again, this time to White Rock. We had about an hours break again before going back in. This time there was a photographer who came with us. We carried on as normal doing our dive and he snapped away. On this dive we had a compass to use to show us how to navigate under water. It wasn't as bad as I thought! This time we saw loads more fish and beautiful coral; a moray eel, flat worm and lots of parrotfish. When the dive was over we got back on the boat, packed our kit away and waited for the boat to get back to shore. In the mean time the photographer took a group photo of everyone who was qualifying today so that he could put it on Facebook. Once back on shore we rinsed out kit for the last time then went across to the shop where we could have a look at the photographs on the tv there. There were some great pictures but no awesome ones, plus the prices started at £8 for one photo which put us off so we came away empty handed!
We had a lunch break, went back to the hotel for showers and to get changed then grabbed a sandwich on the way back to the classroom. We went through all the rest of the homework questions that we hadn't done so far, then it was test time. It was multiple choice and wasn't strictly under exam conditions. We got it marked there and then, we all passed. We are now Open Water Divers and can go as deep as 18 metres. We even have cards to prove it and we were given log books where you log every dive you do and is then stamped and signed by the company you dive with. Very chuffed we left the classroom and the four of us went for a beer to celebrate over the road from the dive school. After having a drink we went back got changed then the two of us went out for something to eat, on getting back it didn't take long for either of us to get to sleep, the last few days have definitely caught up with us!!
