Today, being an 'At Sea' day was a day for leisure. Due to the time change back an hour we didn't sleep as late as we thought so went to the restaurant for breakfast which had ok Eggs Benedict but otherwise all the same stuff as the buffet. A bit of book reading & I headed to the gym for a run on the treadmill- managed 2 miles of running today!! There was a cooking demonstration on the pool deck at 1pm so I went to watch them cook up a big wok of chicken biryani, enough for 100 people so I tried some for lunch- yum, a nice change from buffet food! After lunch was more reading & relaxing before getting the step count up on the panorama deck. I ended up doing 15 laps which added up to 3 miles plus despite being in a bit of a sea fog again I saw some dolphins swimming around the front of the ship & possibly some whales surfacing in the distance. I had walked up an appetite so we headed to the restaurant for dinner- chicken kiev & strawberry short cake on the menu tonight. After dinner we went to the broadway show lounge to hear the guest speaker Robert Oakley speak about his years as a political journalist & then waited around until 11pm when the captain sounded the horn to mark our entry into the arctic circle! The sun was just setting but it would still be light most of the night with sunrise at 3.50am. We had arrived at the land of the midnight sun!
