Mykonos...what can we say this is one awesome island! After our ferry ride from Ios we arrived into Mykonos in the early evening and with only two nights here we dropped our bags got dressed and jumped on the bus into town to do some exploring. It was time to say goodbye to beautiful Santorini and hello to Ios. We arrived into Ios just after lunch and hit the beach for something to eat and some swimming as it was so damn hot! Today we booked an all day tour around Santorini to see the main sites and to hear the history of the island. We were picked up by a coach and taken to the port where we jumped on a sailing boat out to the burnt island. Here we got off the boat and trekked up to the top of the volcano were we learnt how the three islands today were all joined as one like a ring before the volcano erupted and split them up. A 4:15am wake up call is never fun but it's ok if it's for a flight down to Athens to begin the last part of our Europe leg in Greece then continuing onto Turkey!
