Brenton Kovacs's Travels
After deciding not to venture north due to bad weather, we have spent more time in Las Vegas.
Having seen most of the Casinos, we aimed to see more of the surroundings.
A short drive to Mt Charleston revealed a very quiet and pretty mountain resort. It has received a lot of snow recently, and even today they expect another 3 to 6 inches. Has a great lunch at the resort admiring the scenery.
Red Rock is not far out of town, and this to has received snow. It certainly attracts a lot of visitors, must be the novelty of seeing snow for the fist time for many of the locals.
Another day we drove out to Valley of Fire. This drive was great. The rock formations were amazing. We had some blue sky for most of the time we were there. The drive back was even better, as we stayed off the highway, and did the back roads. There is some amazing scenery here.
Visited the Hoover dam and did a tour down to the see the generators. This is worth the $11 admission. Cannot believe how low the water level is.
The hire car we have is a Ford Edge SUV. What a great car to drive, pity its so thirsty, 23mpg.
We have witnessed plenty of crashes on the highway. People still tailgate in the wet.
Alan has started to come down with some sort of bug, and is not real happy at the moment. I hope i dont catch, and i hope he makes a speedy recovery.
Our next destination is Los Angeles.

Adrya This looks like somewhere in Switzerland.
Adrya From your itineray your last day of holidays is very close. I hope the weather improves for you to make the best of it. How is Alan? Has he come down with flu? They won't let him fly if he has a bad cold. I am looking forward to hearing all about your travels on your return and receiving the photos when ready. You will be welcomed home with open arms and much admiration and love. See you soon!
