Brenton Kovacs's Travels
Our flight arrived into Las Vegas without any delays, even though the airport at Dallas was fogged out. The plane we were in could land without pilots assistance. Collected our hire car and headed off to Laughlin. Laughlin is a very small Casino town on the edge of the Colorado river. No i would not go back to this place, its pretty boring.
While at the hotel, a staff member commented that they were getting rain tonight, and more to come. This was a surprise to us as there was blue sky, and warm tempurature.
After watching the late night news we found out that there were some severe storms on their way.
We headed off to Flagstaff in the morning, but encountered some heavy rain, then snow.
Flagstaff is about 7,000 feet above sea level, so when we arrived, there was lots of snow, and a lot more to come.
The weather report was for heavy snow for the next 3 days, and possible road closures.
After considering our options, we only stayed in Flagstaff for the 1 night, then headed back to Las Vegas. I did not want to take the risk of heading north to Monument valley, and get trapped.
On the way back to Vegas we detoured to the Grand Canyon, very pretty with the snow every where. Pics will be added soon.
Our drive into Vegas to a turn for the worse weather wise. The rain was so heavy, and flooding was a real problem. Anyway we arrived at the Platinum hotel a little stressed after having to deal with Vegas traffic, at night, in torrential rain. its good to be off the road at the moment.

Adrya It looks so cold like out of a fairy tale. You have had such good weather and missed the really terrible weather until now. Pretty well done i think. The snow over the car shows how extreme the weather is.
Adrya This is so exquisite. One doesn't think of the Grand Canyon covered with snow. It always looks so hot and inhospitable, but i suppose it is subject to the seasons and must have been really cold.
