Brenton Kovacs's Travels
It was a long day in the bus, About 8 hours in total. Had to take one bus to Zagreb, then another to Split. The first bus was 40 minutes late, so this only gave me 5 minutes to connect to the next bus. made it with 2 minutes to spare. I hate it when this happens, causes me to get anxious. At least i didnt miss the bus.
Arrived into Split at 6.30pm and walked to my apartment, about 30 minutes. Settled in ok and started planning on what to see and do. Lovely balmy night, and i have a great view from the balcony of Split and the ocean.
The first day in Split is very warm, so i just stayed around the old town. A visit the the Roman wall and ruins is very good. Some of the best preserved ruins in the world.
During the night it started to rain, then came the thunder and lightening. It continued till late into the next day. So my only option that day was to take a bus to the large shopping mall and take a look here for a few hours.
Today is much better, still cloudy, but no rain. I take a long walk to Majan Nation Park. Walking along the path with the scent of pine, the great views, was pretty nice. There is a look out at the top which did offer some nice views. Not too many people up here.
Walking back into town you could see an impending storm moving over the city. I knew i should have taken the umbrella. It did start to rain, and got quite heavy, so i had to take shelter till it passed. A great day otherwise.
My last day is spent wandering around the old town and the harbour. It is a really nice day and being Saturday the town is very busy.
Sunday is a travel day. My next destination is Mostar, Bosnia Herzegovina, by bus
