"There's something wrong with you. Have you got worms?" - Chris Christodoulou (to James)
Well, we feel like absolute s***! Having made it to bed a little before 2am, we rose for our Grand Canyon excursion one hour later. We can tell you that it wasn't enough sleep - we're pretty sure that we were still drunk as we got on the coach at 4:30am. In fact, people were only return from their night out as we were leaving the hotel. Not only that, Hulk Hogan joined us on the trip. Marc earned himself a LAD point for dressing up as Hogan for the day (moustache included) and it looked amazing!
After sitting on a coach for a pointless 2hours, waiting for others to join us, we eventually got to the small airport where we were going to fly to the Grand Canyon's West Rim. We took flight in what felt like a toy aeroplane; when you have to pretty much crawl to your seat, you know you're in a toy aeroplane. After a 30 minute flight, riding up front, we landed and waited to get into our helicopter that would take us to the floor of the Grand Canyon. The helicopter ride was awesome, and sadly over within a few minutes; however, we then embarked on a boat ride up the Colorado River where our escort informed us of all the wildlife within the area and even let us drive the boat along the river itself - he was a good laugh.
Struggling with the lack of sleep we couldn't believe that it was only 8.30am. We took the helicopter back to the top of the Grand Canyon and headed to our next two stops via coach: Eagle Point and Guano Point.
Eagle Point was where the Skywalk was situated; however, we didn't take part in it as we didn't feel it was necessary... you could get pretty close to the edge as there were no barriers or form of protection.
Guano Point was where we sat down and had lunch; it was bloody awful. Seeing as we had about 45 minutes until our coach departed back to the terminal, we went for a walk to see what we could find, learning about the bat s*** caves that were once connected on the opposite sides of the canyon.
We headed back to the terminal via coach, before departing back to Las Vegas via our aeroplane once more.
Considering James and Chris slept most of the flight back, it was necessary that we slept during the afternoon in order to feel a little more fresh for the evenings event: a night out at Club XS where the resident DJ was Martin Solveig!
Following an afternoon snooze, and in Chris' case a cheeky sun tanning session, we were slightly more revitalised for the evening's night out. We decided to dine a little Asian this evening and headed next door to the Wynn to have dinner at Red 8.
Heading back to the hotel room for some pre-drinks, we had a few beers and a 2 litre bottle of Southern Comfort to consume. We were going out out, and we were going to do it the English way... pissed before we've even got started.
Unfortunately, Marc failed to earn a second LAD point for keeping his moustache for an entire 24 hours - so close Marc, so so close!
We headed on our night out; you know what they say, what happens in a Vegas, stays in Vegas...
