Monday 15th July- We checked out tube stops etc to get in to city - then realised we could walk it in about 20 minutes- so we set off for the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Passed the Palace Mews- then to the Palace. Found a great spot ( thousands of tourists) up on the Queen Victoria Memorial -and thoroughly enjoyed the music and colour of the Changing of the Guards. Then thru the Wellington Arch to Harrods - where we indulged in tea and scones- gorgeously sumptuous!! Checked out the store’s offering of clothes. ( resisted buying anything) , also the food hall - very grand with great looking tucker. Walked on a bit more - popping in and out of boutiques. After a grey start to the day - sun was out - summer’s day- yay. Looked in at Victoria and Albert Mueum - very impressive - feeling tad under the weather still so decided to come back later in week. The courtyard garden is edged with beautiful hydrangeas. Taxi back to apartment where we cooked up the purchases from the amazing Italian deli just around the corner where we had our first London coffee and cake yesterday.
