Fri 30/5/14 Thoroughly enjoyed the treetop walk through the "younger trees" standing 70mt tall, as well as the forest floor boardwalk through "the ancient empire forest"...where the girths of some trees have reached 24mt. Arrived at Rest Point Campground, Walpole at 5.30pm. Lucky enough to secure "site 13" with unobstructed views of Walpole / Nornalup Esturine Inlet and a fire barrel - which will be put to good use as it is SO COLD HERE. We had a nice long skype session with Dahlstrom family dinner, and Lukas provided background "mime" entertainment for Aunty Sharon while Mummy was trying to chat with her.
Sat 31/05/14 Well winter is here...down to 4oC last night....the four anglers were up a bit after 6am and well settled into fishing by 7am.....Despite the chilly morning winds, they stuck at it ALL DAY - the blogger setup by the campfire and tried to catch up with photo downloads - thankfully winds dropped off but it only reached a top of 15oC - eventually kids had to be forced to pack up at 6.30pm. Catches for the day were as follows: Alexis 3 bream/1 whiting, Brodie 2 bream/ 1 whiting. Lukas 2 bream/2 whiting plus 2 casts straight into the trees above him! Out of all the haul, only 1 of Luey's whiting was big enough to keep. Cooked a BBQ dinner under the spying eyes of the several Kookaburras who sing serenades at dusk & dawn and watched a brilliant pink sunset before gathering around the campfire for toasted marshmallows. Checked out the dancing in the barn, listened to the Bombers game fireside and then retired to escape the FREEZING night temperatures.

Mum certainly an interesting landscape. Sounds and looks like everyone having a good time no matter what the weather. Checked out the dancing??? Join in? Camp area looks nice. love, M and D xxxxx
Aunty Margaret I wonder where the fishing gene came from? Certainly not from Grand-dad Bob. He was the world's worst fisherman. Looks like A, B and L will soon be landing great big fish, enough to feed 5 hungry tummies.
Mum fishing gene from Great Grand-dad. Member of Anglers club.. Maribrynong if I remember correctly. Gene obviously skipped a few [3] generations. He would have been thrilled to bits to see the kids enjoying themselves fishing.
