Sat 03/05/14 Was woken at 5am by Alexis who happily reported that the Tooth Fairy had found us and left 50cents - thank goodness! Also the sun is out - hooray! 18oC and a strong breeze-a-blowing so an exciting day of drying everything out, doing laundry & some supermarket shopping. Expensive here - $5 for 25min wash cycle and $1/10min dryer - $25 bucks later all clothes and bedsheets done. Kids made some friends, Cruz & Broxy (girls), so mucked around with them after chores done. Skyped with Aunty Margaret and Joneses after dinner - everyone very happy to see each other - though kiddies quite excitable and tired; not the best combination for sensible conservation. B&A's tiredness translated into fighting at bedtime; ignoring warnings earned them some time sitting in the car, in the dark, in the cold...after which they returned to bed in silence - perfect.

Sun 04/05/14 Skyped Dahlstrom-Slidders at brekky today - again all happy to see each other; minecraft a popular topic of conversation. Beautiful today, sunny 23oC, quite warm actually. Lazy rest day. Kids played at the water park, did some chalk art and girls had a swim in the pool. I did some reading and Michael & kiddies made pizzas in the webber. Hit a snag when Mikey moved the metal pizza tray (just out of 200oC bbq) & forgot to use tongs...he touched it only for a second, but burned two fingers quite badly. Had to keep them submerged in iced water for almost two hours before pain subsided enough to take them out and watch the blisters grow. Not ideal timing as we leave tomorrow and it takes both of us to pack everything up & he may be limited to one hand - have to wait and see.
