Mon 05/05/14 Woke up to cold, wind and rain = wet pack up = junk! Kids breakfasted then were sent to TV/Games room while K & the injured M got soaked pulling down annexe etc in the rain. Set off about 10.30am with fuel stop at Shandon and then drove straight through to Wallaroo, arriving approx 1.15pm to a beautiful sunny day - yippee!. Kids quickly vanished to check out the park and find the play area. Had time to hang up the soggy annexe to dry before putting it up. Park is right on the edge of the Spencer Gulf at North Beach. Treated ourselves to an ensuite site overlooking the beach. Skyped Nanna & Poppy - they missing us already!- then had well earned, rockin' hot flood showers, (unlike last park where you had to keep moving to get wet), watched an amazing sunset before heading to the Alehouse at the Copper Cove Marina for a delicious seafood dinner. Will sleep well tonight!
Tues 06/05/14 Sunny 20oC today. Kids & Dad went fishing at the Marina canals. Lukas caught -2 flat head, 1 mullet & 1 whiting. Alexis caught 2 whiting. Brodie caught 1 whiting - Mummy watched. Next Brodie & Mum headed to supermarket, whilst Lukas & Alexis stayed to observe the fish cleaning process - which they described in great detail upon Brodie's return:- " head cut off" " you could see tubes & guts" etc. etc. All 3 cherubs are now keen anglers and have requested more expeditions, much to their father's delight. This evening we were informed by fellow campers that there has been a mouse plague in the area. Sure enough, we soon noticed Mickey & Minnie snooping in the annexe - the kids found this very exciting and wanted to take photos for Nanna, as mice are her FAVOURITE animal - NOT! Our furry friends were despatched and things re-arranged to ensure there was nothing to tempt any of their friends to visit us. So far, so good.
