Long, long day of driving today once we eventually left our pitch in Jostedal which we had grown quite attached to.

We filled up on diesel and food in Gaupne and then headed up the highest mountain pass in Northern Europe as we crossed to Lom with dramatic views at every hairpin turn as we climbed into the snow and said goodbye to the fjords.

We headed for Central Norway and then on to Hunderfossen for the night, to stay at a rather less welcoming campsite, but cheap at least, with a few free loads of washing thrown in to make up for the long walk to reception. The sky even had glimpses of blue up there amongst the cloud.... we must have left the fjords behind us.
