It was another day of two parts today. We woke in Pakostane and headed off on the bikes early to explore as there were bike paths in every direction... we cycled alongside Lake Vrana, the largest lake in Croatia to Drage and then realising that it was getting late we headed back to pack up and drive North to the main destination for the day.
Zadar was all about the sea organ which was actually more impressive than we were expecting as the wind was blowing and so the waves were making the organ very expressive! Apparently there are 35 pipes under the stairs that we sat on and you never hear the same sound twice as the sea is always shifting...
We certainly had different music when we returned after dinner to witness the "Greeting to the Sun". The sunset was beautiful, as it most often is in this part of the world, and so then the circle of lights is supposed to provide a show "in rhythm with the waves and the the sound of the sea organ"..... Not so sure about this one - perhaps it would have been better if the wind had stayed high.... the lights came on but the sunset alone was sufficient for us - although a bit of a disco gave an opportunity for M&D to blow off some steam!
