Hi all, on leaving Inveraray next stop was fort William where I stayed in the youth hostel at the foot of Ben Nevis, most impressive but a few midges for company. The day after I travelled beside Loch Ness on the way to Beauly to stay with Val's cousin Ruth. Luxury and VERY WELL fed and watered.
The intention was to go up the west side to Durness then on to Tongue. Unfortunately couldn't get booked anywhere so changed plan and went straight to Tongue from Beauly. So I've cycled West today to Durness (north west corner) and returned to Tongue for a second night - hope you're keeping up! It's on to John O'Groats tomorrow. Anyway, I'm in a pub in Tongue writing this over a couple of pints of Guinness and burger and chips.
Emotional experience yesterday when an old lady gave me a tenner for CHUF then proceeded to tell me she lost a son to leukemia - I just gave her a hug!
